MMF are well established as one of the world's leading high quality manufacturers of all types of thin and thick wall metallic bellows expansion joints. They are mainly used in high temperature piping and ductwork systems to absorb thermal expansion and protect sensitive equipment against excessive loading. MMF also supply expansion [contraction] bellows joints for cryogenic piping systems.
Design and construction of an individual expansion joint depends upon each application, and features can include single ply or leak testable multi-ply, equalising rings, vapour seals, electric trace heating, toroidal shape etc.
MMF offer a comprehensive range of expansion joints, based on an ongoing development programme, started forty years ago. Standard diameters include the range 40mm. up to 5.0m, with special applications having been produced up to 15.0m nominal size. Individual expansion joint assemblies up to 35 tonnes have been completed and shipped from our Broxburn works. Depending upon size and application, design pressure ranges can vary from FV to 150 bar, and temperature ranges from –196 ºC to +900 ºC.
MMF also offer a range of hydraulically formed thick wall [4.0 to 15.0mm] expansion joints in the range, 75 to approx. 1900 NB, mainly for heat exchanger shell applications. Special fabricated designs, U and omega shape, are available for all diameters.
MMF design and manufacture bellows assemblies in accordance with most of the world's design standards, e.g.:
* EJMA
* BS 6129
* ASME
* ADM B13
* SNAM
* STOOMWEZEN
MMF manufacture expansion joints in a wide range of materials, eg., alloys 3XX, 400, 600, 625, 800X, 825, Duplex, Cr/Mo/V, Titanium, CS, etc.
